The Greater Long Beach Workforce Development Board is hosting its annual job fair on Aug. 28 at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. The fair will take place in the Grand Ballroom from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Board, which represents Lomita, Long Beach, Signal Hill and Torrance is expected to have 100 employers meet and interact with thousands of job seekers at Job Fair 2007. The event provides employment access to jobseekers through networking and interviewing with local businesses.
Last year 1,700 job seekers not only had the opportunity to network with businesses but also received information on trades, schools, and education from local community resource agencies.
Some of the businesses and community resources that attended were Coca Cola, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bally Total Fitness, Los Angeles Police Department and Hyatt Regency Long Beach.
To participate as an employer in the event, exhibitors must register by Aug. 17, 2007. Contact Jennifer Angeles by e-mail, jennifer_angeles@ longbeach.gov, or call (562) 570-4718 for information.
