About 5,000 people attended the University By The Sea festival in downtown Long Beach last Sunday (Oct. 28). The event featured 30 classes covering a broad range of subjects taught in 10 restaurants. Other attractions included live music, dance, an underwater robotics tank, martial arts demonstrations, face painting, CSULB Kaleidoscope interactive learning stations, and a walk through the historic Jergins Tunnel Showcase.
“It was great,” said event organizer Ryan Smolar. “We connected downtown with other parts of Long Beach and we connected Long Beach with its past.”
