The Long Beach Police Department hosted a celebration in honor of the West Patrol Substation’s 10-year anniversary last Saturday at the Police Substation at 1835 Santa Fe Avenue in Long Beach.
Residents enjoyed an outdoor BBQ while getting informed about public safety and crime prevention through figures such as the Long Beach Police Explorers and McGruff the Crime Fighting Dog. Guests also got a chance to visit information displays by Long Beach Police Marine Patrol, the Senior Police Partners, the City of Long Beach Nature Center and Long Beach Animal Control.
Children’s activities included arts and crafts, face painting, a puppet show, and a visit by Herbie, the talking police car. Many city officials were also in attendance.
