CSUDH hosting e-waste roundup in honor of Earth Day

California State University, Dominguez Hills has a solution for people looking to rid their homes of electronic waste in an environmentally safe and responsible manner. The university has partnered with All Green Electronics Recycling, a national recycling company headquartered in Tustin, to bring an e-waste recycling roundup to its campus from 9am to 4pm on Saturday, April 23.
A continuation of the university’s Earth Day celebration that began on Thursday, April 21, the roundup will take place in Parking Lot 4 off University and Toro Center drives at the south end of campus. Among the items being accepted for donation that day will be computers, monitors, laptops, televisions, VCRs, DVD players, cell phones, mp3 players, ink toner cartridges, printers, microwaves, cables and wires, and any small or portable device with a plug or circuit board. Furniture, kitchen appliances or household hazardous waste will not be accepted.
All items collected at the roundup will be sold to recycling processing plants in North America; no items will be sent to a landfill or shipped out of the country.
CSU Dominguez Hills is located at 1000 E. Victoria St. in Carson. For more information on the roundup, call (310) 243-2438.
