Long Beach’s Lincoln Park hosting free activities for all ages

The City of Long Beach’s Department of Parks, Recreation, and Marine (PRM) will be hosting free recreation activities at Lincoln Park (101 Pacific Ave.) for the foreseeable future. 

The activities cater to various interests and age groups, from adults to children. Available group activities are as follows:

Walking Group (All Ages)—Tuesdays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., check-in at the PRM canopies.

Participants can join a walk starting at Lincoln Park, circling the Civic Center and the Billie Jean King Main Library. Participants can walk at their own pace. The walk will take place on flat ground.

Intro to Fitness with Park Equipment (Ages 13 and up)—Wednesdays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., check-in at the PRM canopies.

This class aims to encourage participants to use the fitness equipment available at the park. It is suitable for all fitness levels, focusing on cardiovascular conditioning, endurance, strength-building and stress reduction through physical movement. Participants can go at their own pace in a group setting.

Come and Dance: Moving and Grooving (All Ages)—Fridays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., check-in at the PRM canopies.

Attendees will learn various freestyle dance styles with different music genres. This beginner class includes line dancing and other fun dance forms.

Play Dates in the Park (3 Years and Older)—Fridays, noon to 1 p.m., check-in at the PRM canopies.

Geared towards children ages 3 to 12, this session offers different activities for casual play dates between local children.
