Long Beach asks for public feedback on 2025 budget

The City of Long Beach is encouraging the public to attend upcoming community meetings or complete an online survey in order to help develop the City’s 2025 budget.

The City’s annual budget lays out how the local government will allocate funds to its different departments and programs in the coming fiscal year.

The community budget meetings will take place in person at various locations across Long Beach on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 17, 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Viva Event Center at the Museum of Latin American Art (628 Alamitos Ave.)
  • Monday, Jan. 22, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. – Doris Topsy-Elvord Community Center at Houghton Park (6301 Myrtle Ave.)
  • Thursday, Jan. 25, 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Small Gymnasium at Cabrillo High School (2001 Santa Fe Ave.)Tuesday, Jan. 30, 6 to 7:30 p.m. – Recreation Park Community Center (4900 E 7th St.)

A virtual community budget meeting will be held online on Wednesday, Jan. 31, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer, Tagalog, and American Sign Language will be available for all meetings. Advanced registration for the virtual meeting is required to receive the Zoom meeting link.

In addition to the meetings, community members can submit their budget service priorities by completing the Long Beach Budget Priority Survey online.. 

The insights gathered from the community meetings and the online survey will be shared with the Long Beach City Council before the fiscal year 2025 budget is developed.
