Parents and kids can enjoy a drawing class at a local library or storytime at The LGBTQ Center Long Beach on Friday. Teens are invited to attend a movie screening in North Long Beach.
Theater goers can enjoy a live performance on Saturday night, or try their hand at acting an audition for an upcoming play on Monday. Art lovers can enjoy free admission to the Museum of Latin American Art, attend a panel discussion on submitting their work for exhibits, or attend a lecture on micro-galleries.

Kids Drawing Class: 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Artist Dave Boatman will be leading this cartoon drawing class for students between the ages of 6 and 12 at the Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W Broadway). Free.
Drag Queen Story Hour: 5:30 p.m. Drag Queen Big Dee will be reading a children’s book aloud at The LGBTQ Center Long Beach (2017 E Fourth St.). Pizza and cookies will be provided. Free.

Dive Into Learning: 11 a.m. to noon. Parents are invited to learn how to help their young children develop their speech from a speech language pathologist at the El Dorado Neighborhood Library (2900 E Studebaker Road). Free.
Free-For-All Museum Day: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Museum of Latin American Art (628 Alamitos Ave.) will not be charging admission for this day. Free.
Artist Panel Discussion: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Long Beach Creative Group will be hosting a panel discussion at the Rod Briggs Memorial Gallery (2221 E Broadway) where their jurists and exhibit coordinators will explain how artists can apply to an open call. Free.
Plantfest: Noon to 5 p.m. Hella Plants Market and Plantiitas will be hosting this plant marketplace at the Museum of Latin American Art (628 Alamitos Ave.). The event will feature multiple plant vendors, workshops and more. General admission tickets cost $10 on Eventbrite.
Live Theater Performance: 8 p.m. The Garage Theatre (251 E Seventh St.) will be performing a rendition of the play “Hat Box,” which follows the story of four sister wives and their polygamist prophet husband. General admission tickets can be purchased for $25 on ovationtix.com.

Yoga at the Farm: 10 a.m. This morning yoga session at Farm Lot 59 (2714 California Ave.) is appropriate for all experience levels. The class will consist of breathing exercises and gentle stretching. Tickets are available on a sliding scale on Farm Lot 59’s website, from $5 to $15.
Food Giveaway: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Individuals and families in need are invited by the Friends of Puvungna to pick up baskets of fruits and vegetables in the G2 parking lot at Cal State Long Beach. Free.
Book Signing: Noon to 3 p.m. Artist and photojournalist Manny Crisostomo will be signing copies of the second edition of his book “Journey to the Heart: Pacific Islanders Celebrate Their Indigenous Cultures” at the Pacific Island Ethnic Art Museum (695 Alamitos Ave.). Support Group: 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach (2017 E Fourth St.) will be hosting this weekly support group for gay, bisexual and trangender men to share their experiences in a supportive environment. Free.
Theater Auditions: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Long Beach Playhouse (5021 E Anaheim St.) is holding auditions for its upcoming rendition of “Detroit ’67.” Actors must be available to perform every Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Actors will work on a volunteer basis for no compensation. Those auditioning should bring a resume and headshot with them. Free.

DIY Craft: 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Participants will make a mini-notebook at the Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W. Broadway) to take home with them. Materials will be provided. This event is appropriate for those 12 and older. Free.
Community Information Meeting: 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. A new affordable housing development may be coming to the Cal Heights neighborhood, and the local community is invited to weigh in on the project during this public meeting at the Expo Arts Center (4321 Atlantic Ave.).
