The Lincoln Park Collaborators Programming Group has released the upcoming summer events schedule for Lincoln Park, with several weekly programs and special activities happening throughout the season.
The Programming Group includes Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine and local nonprofits such as the Downtown Long Beach Alliance and Long Beach Community Foundation. The group formed in 2022 following the Lincoln Park’s $19.5 million remodel in an attempt to plan and promote future community events at the park.
Free activities being offered weekly during the summertime include dog obedience training, yoga classes and park clean-ups.
Another program offered is Bollywood Dance, occurring every Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Bollywood Dance is led by instructor Madhavi Narayanan and is not only a beginner-friendly cardio workout, but an insight into the culture and choreography of Bollywood.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching at Lincoln Park and meeting members of the community in this unique and welcoming environment,” said Narayanan, in a recent press release from Downtown Long Beach Alliance. “Every person I have met brings so much energy and enthusiasm to the class. Movement can be an incredible way to de-stress and connect with your community, and I hope that attendees can leave class feeling like they got to connect to their bodies and the music through joy and gratitude.”
The free weekly programs being offered this summer at Lincoln Park include the following:
Organized by LP Collaborative:
- Dog Obedience: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 1 p.m.
- Bollywood Dance: Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Friends of Lincoln Park Clean up: Monthly on first Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
- Yoga – Movement + Flow with Yancy: Saturdays, 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Organized by Parks, Rec & Marine:
- Walking Group: Tuesdays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Intro to Fitness with Park Equipment: Wednesdays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Come and Dance: Moving and Grooving: Fridays, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Play Dates in the Park: Fridays, noon to 1 p.m.

- Independence Day Dog Parade – June 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Viva Long Beach – Sept. 21, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
