Lowenthal was suggested by City of Long Beach staff and subsequently nominated and chosen for the award.Â
“I was very humbled and honored to have been selected for this award and in the company of my fellow awardees,” Lowenthal said. “It was inspiring to hear from other agencies and their plans to re-imagine neighborhoods, public space, transportation and the marriage between good design and forward thinking planning.”
The awards ceremony took place Wednesday night at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
