Senator Alan Lowenthal and Mayor Bob Foster will co-host the live auction portion of Children Today’s 10th annual Holiday Cheer Wine Tasting and Auction to help the nonprofit fund its services for homeless families and children.
At Holiday Cheer, Children Today’s marquee fundraising event, guests will sample a variety of wines and a light buffet dinner before bidding on diverse auction items like travel packages, sports activities and tickets, entertainment events, and gifts and personal items. Lowenthal and Foster will be on hand to encourage a lively and competitive auction.
Tickets for Holiday Cheer are $110 each and can be purchased online using PayPal or are available at the door. The fundraiser will take place Nov. 29 at the top floor of the Arco Towers in downtown Long Beach. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Benefit attendees can use the agency’s Web site, www .childrentoday.org, to bid on auction items, review sponsorship and underwriting opportunities and learn more about the services offered by Children Today.
The proceeds from this event will be used to support The Play House West – Children Today’s licensed developmentally appropriate child care and preschool facility located at the Long Beach Multi-Service Center, which serves infants through preschool age children in homeless families.
Children at The Play House West benefit from a safe environment, nutritious meals, access to health-care services and loving caregivers.
