The City of Long Beach is wrapping up its summer programs for youth with a free concert at Marine Stadium, headlined by the popular Southern California band Tijuana Dogs.
“There’s no better way to wrap up summer break than by coming together with family, friends and neighbors for a beautiful evening of energetic fun and live music,” Mayor Rex Richardson said in a public statement. “Long Beach has long been a hub of arts and music and we are thrilled to welcome Tijuana Dogs to celebrate that cultural spirit that makes Long Beach so special.”
Known for their high-energy performances, the Tijuana Dogs will perform a wide range of music — from pop and classic rock to hip-hop and radio hits spanning the 1970s through the early 2000s.
The event is part of the City’s broader “Summer of Opportunity” initiative, which offers free and low-cost activities aimed at supporting Long Beach youth and reducing youth violence.
Families and community members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic dinners to enjoy the show outdoors.
“I am incredibly excited to welcome the return of PRM’s end of summer concert to Marine Stadium,” said Third District Councilmember Kristina Duggan in a public statement. “We encourage the community to join us as we say farewell to summer break with a fun, family-friendly celebration right in the heart of District 3.”
The annual concert was temporarily relocated to El Dorado Park West in 2023 and 2024 while Marine Stadium underwent restoration work as part of the City’s Colorado Lagoon Open Channel Project. This year marks its return to the waterfront venue.
The show will take place on Friday, Aug. 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at 5255 E. Paoli Way.
