The show features a series of ink prints created from copper plate etchings. As a reflection of her passion for taking care of all aspects of our environment, Hagen has coined the term “Earth bones,” as a concept of giving to those who need assistance, and all of the proceeds from her art will go to such a cause.
“As a social worker for adults with disabilities, I feel compelled to learn from those I encounter and the surroundings I interact with,” Hagen said. “The art in the show is focused on representing the animals, the Earth, all people, and peace. These aspects hold the elements in the world we live. My intention is to bring attention to their importance in our lives and how we must protect, honor and value their presence. After doing a series of vision quests, I am devoted to doing my part to support each element and to learn from them in my own life on a continual basis. Every animal I encounter teaches me, every aspect of the Earth offers me insight, my families and communities guide my life, and peace is always the objective.”
