Long Beach’s HOME Roadshow invites residents to be a part of housing talks

The event will offer information on housing production and updates on the City’s homelessness efforts at the Billie Jean King Library on Nov. 12.

The Long Beach Community Development Department will host an open house and Housing and Homelessness Opportunities, Mobilization and Engagement (HOME) roadshow on Nov. 12. at the Billie Jean King Main Library.

Planning for Housing: An Open House will provide information on housing production efforts and rezoning projects in Long Beach as well as showcase current efforts to increase housing supply, access, and affordability through the Department’s Planning Bureau. Residents are encouraged, but not required, to register online

The event will also include the third installment of the (HOME) Community Roadshow, an initiative by the City’s Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships to host community engagement events around Long Beach. The goal of this initiative is to foster open dialogue around housing, homelessness and the City’s ongoing efforts to address critical challenges.

Attendees will have the chance to view interactive poster displays, ask questions and speak directly with staff from the Planning Bureau and the Office of Homeless Strategy and Partnerships during the open house. 

Feedback from attendees will guide the City’s housing policy work, supporting the goals of the certified Sixth Cycle (2021-2029) Housing Element and ensuring alignment with state housing mandates. 

The event is part of the City’s ongoing commitment to equitable, inclusive housing policies that address the diverse needs of Long Beach residents.

Planning for Housing: An Open House will take place Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. in meeting rooms A & B of the Billie Jean King Main Library (200 W. Broadway). Interpretation services in Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog will be available upon request by emailing CDHousingPolicy@longbeach.gov..
