Long Beach residents and business owners are invited to two upcoming meetings on proposed Mobile Food Facilities Ordinances.

The City will host two community meetings on a proposed ordinance to establish guidelines for permits, licenses, parking and general operating requirements.

The first meeting will be held virtually via Zoom on Nov. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. Community members will learn about the proposed ordinance and can ask questions during the Q&A segment. People interested in attending can register online. For those unable to attend, the session will be recorded and made publicly available via the City’s Mobile Food Facilities webpage.

The second meeting, intended for current and prospective food truck and mobile food facility operators, will take place Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 10 to 11:30  a.m. at the Billie Jean King Main Library.

During the event, operators will learn practical steps they can take to be in compliance with the potential ordinance. Attendees will get the opportunity to speak with City staff after the presentation and begin preparing paperwork that will be required once the ordinance is adopted. Mobile food facility operators can register for this meeting online.

An online feedback form will be shared with attendees at the meetings for public comments on the proposed ordinance, and will also be made available online via the mobile food facilities webpage following the virtual meeting.

Interpretation in Spanish, Khmer and Tagalog will be available for both meetings.
