
Local storytellers will get the chance to compete for the title of “Long Beach’s Greatest Storyteller” at the Long Beach Playhouse (5021 E. Anaheim St.) story slam on Thursday, Dec. 29 from 7-9pm. The show will also feature guest storyteller, Oscar and Grammy-winning songwriter Paul Williams. Judges include Alan “Big Red” Kalter from The Late Show with David Letterman, Naples Improvement Association president Jonathan Schnack, and Grunion Gazette editor Harry Saltzgaver. As with all the shows, the audience votes as well. Admission is $5 and the winner will receive a $100 prize, donated by Belmont Music Studios.
