Knowing that Bixby Knolls could use a local bike shop with a personal touch, friend from Long Beach suggested that Brian Keate, who also owns the successful La Habra Cyclery, look into opening a new bicycle shop here. After months of planning, the new shop opened the first week of December. Long Beach Cyclery is a welcome addition to this bike-friendly city, offering everything from entry-level family bikes to higher-end products for the serious rider.
Carrying gear from major manufacturers, as well as bikes from KHS, Look, Cannondale and Focus, Long Beach Cyclery is a great source for any bicycler’s needs. Not sure what to choose? The new Bixby Knolls store is all about helping customers determine which bike fits them best. “The first thing to decide when choosing a bicycle is how your bike will be used,” says Keate. “What style excites you the most.”
For instance, a family outing isn’t the right time to break out the mountain bike, nor is a beach cruiser the appropriate bike for a road race. Bikes are made for different categories of riding, so it’s important to factor in lifestyle when making a purchase. “We can help you make the best choice for your riding requirements,” says Keate.
For those who have bicycles in need of a tune up, Long Beach Cyclery’s full-service bike shop works on most makes and models, with all repairs performed in the center of the showroom, in front of the customers. From wheel truing to brake service and adjustments, Long Beach Cyclery is truly a one-stop bicycle shop.
Need a nice stocking stuffer? Long Beach Cyclery stocks seats, helmets, shoes, Oakley gear, locks, tools and other accessories to fill a bike enthusiastʼs holiday list.
Open at 10am from Tuesday through Saturday, closing weekdays at 6pm and Saturday at 5pm, Long Beach Cyclery is the local choice for holiday gift givers. Located at 3756 Long Beach Blvd., stop in or call them at (562) 427-9900 for more information. The shop is easy to spot— just look for the row of shiny bikes in front.
