The North Long Beach Community Action Group (CAG) will host a forum for candidates seeking a seat on the Long Beach Council representing the 8th district, currently held by Rae Gabelich, who will be termed out.
The forum will take place Sunday, Feb. 12, from 5pm to 7pm at the Expo Arts Building, 4302 Atlantic Ave. Doors will open at 4:30pm, and refreshments will be served.
Members of the media and residents will be given the opportunity to ask the candidates questions. Members of CAG will roam the audience with a microphone to field questions from the floor. The candidates will be allowed a two-minute opening and a two-minute closing, according to CAG President Dan Pressburg. The topics will be the budget and pensions, neighborhoods, public safety, infrastructure, business, and the Port.
