Holiday Music Series
The Downtown Long Beach Association is hosting a holiday music series from now until Sunday, Dec. 16. From jazz bands to carolers, every corner of downtown will be filled with festive music. Christmas Caroling
A group will be meeting on the corner of Daisy Avenue and 20th Street Friday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. to go caroling throughout the Wrigley neighborhood. The get-together is hosted by the Wrigley Association, and residents are encouraged to attend. Song sheets will be provided. Free Community Christmas Concert
The Light Christian Fellowship is hosting a community Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The concert is free to the public and will feature the musical group J-Groove. The Light Christian Fellowship meets every Saturday night at Alvarado Elementary School, located at 1900 East 21st Street in Signal Hill. Mexican Christmas Party
The Museum of Latin American Art is hosting Posada, Mexico’s Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 15 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Posadas commemorate and recreate Mary and Joseph’s journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of shelter. The event will feature Latin dishes and Spanish carolers. The cost is $15 for MoLAA members and $20 for nonmembers. The museum is located at 628 Alamitos Avenue. A Found Holiday Concert
Spend an evening with The Found Theatre as they put on their holiday concert A Very Kerry (& Drayfus) Christmas Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. Enjoy recording artists Kerry Getz and Drayfus Grayson, a guest appearance by comedienne Jackie Kashian, an opportunity drawing, and free photos with Santa. Mr. and Mrs. Claus Storytelling
Families are invited to join members of the Signal Hill Library for a yuletide visit from the Claus family. On Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 3:30 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will be telling both original and classic holiday stories, singing songs and giving out treats at the Signal Hill Park Community Center. Interactive Theatre for Kids
From now until Dec. 22, the Garage Theatre is hosting its 5th annual melodrama Long Beach is Sinking! or Hard Time is Easier Than a Life of Injustice by Jamie Sweet. The production lets children and audience members participate in live theatre with set painting and tomato throwing. Christmas Open House
Experience 19th-Century Christmas traditions while learning about Long Beach’s local history at Rancho Los Cerritos’ “Christmas Open House” on Sunday, Dec. 16.
