The North Long Beach Community Action Group will host a forum for Long Beach City Council 8th district candidates on Sunday, Feb. 12 from 5pm to 7pm at the Expo Center, 4321 Atlantic Ave. Doors will open at 4:30pm.
Laurie Angel, former North Project Area chair and community advocate, will serve as moderator. Each candidate will be given two minutes for opening remarks and two minutes for a closing statement. Additionally, candidates will be allowed two minutes each to respond to the questions asked. They will also be able to rebut any questions for 90 seconds twice.
Representatives from the local media will ask questions from the following categories: the budget; the airport; the port; public safety; neighborhoods and communites; and infrastructure. Members of the audience will also be afforded opportunities to ask questions.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available. Candidates are invited to provide campaign materials.
