In Photos: Long Beach Coast inaugural home opener brings fireworks in 13-4 win

It’s rare to see a fully packed Blair Field in June, but this Tuesday was a special occasion, as the Long Beach Coast (10-3) played their inaugural season home opener against the RedPocket Mobiles (1-12).

The typical black and gold Blair Field was turned aqua, from logos on top of the field to the aquamarine backstop with the LBC crest — this was no usual game.

Before the game began, fans were given a poster with the roster, a commemorative ticket and the opportunity to get autographs from players.

After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the second inning, the Coast scored seven runs in the next two frames and never gave the lead back to the Mobiles.

While some fans chose to beat the traffic due to the blowout, the crowd kept the energy high throughout the night — even standing up and cheering for the final out of the game.

The Coast will look to build on its seven-game win streak as they face the Mobiles five more times this week at Blair Field from June 3 to June 7.
