From the cottagecore pink and white decorations to the creepy, crawly and downright terrifying, there’s no wrong way to celebrate spooky season.
How do we celebrate here? By asking you to send in some pictures, of course! We want to see the favorite fall recipes you’re perfecting, pumpkins you’ve carved, pretty leaves you’ve spotted, paintings you’ve painted, a decorated area you’re especially proud of. If it’s Halloween or fall-related, we’d love to share the seasonal joy with our readers.
No need to break out a fancy camera either; we want to emphasize the spontaneity and beginner-friendly aspects of this occasion. Use your phone, let your kid use their V-tech camera, charge your dead early 2000s digital camera and see what happens! We look forward to seeing your masterpieces!

As usual, we ask that there are no people or children included in the photos (but pets in costumes are especially encouraged!) We’ll publish your spooky kooky photos throughout the month if we receive enough to post, or we’ll show off the top submissions in our Halloween print issue at the end of the month.
The deadline for this month is Oct. 27 at 11:59 p.m.
The rules:
- Submissions can be sent to Newspaper@SignalTribune.com via email by the stated deadline to be considered.
- Send submissions with the subject line COMMUNITY FRAMES
- Submissions can contain a maximum of five photos.
- Along with photos, please include your name and neighborhood. If you don’t want certain information printed in the paper or online, specify in your email and we’ll be sure to accommodate.
- No selfies or personally identifying photos.
- Captions are not required, but are preferred; context of where a photo was taken and where, for example, or any flourishes you want to add. If there are no captions, we will write our own and are permitted to take humorous liberties.
- Absolutely, positively, never ever AI-generated photos.
Good luck, and happy snapping!
