Mothers grab your weights and hit the road running. Fitness, what a way to invigorate the soul, a way to find the lost or maybe forgotten about women. The woman who always existed but has been so focused on what others needed she forgot to recognize what she needed.
It is time for women of all ages, sizes and motherly experience to go after their own goals. Fitness is where we start. Fitness invigorates the soul. The endorphins run through the veins like water rushing over rocks in the roaring rapids. Women grab onto your goals and get them. Pull them out of your dreams and off of your to do list and make them a reality. Exercise increases your natural endorphins and makes you happier and unstoppable. It charges your body with excitement and a “go get ’em” attitude.
You may be thinking: How do I start to exercise? What can I do to charge myself up from the inside? I am scared. I am overweight. I am not in college anymore. Can I still do it?
Place one foot in front of the other and go. The simplest step is always the hardest. Jump out of bed and conquer the day, one foot at a time.
Start with both feet hitting the floor. Gaze over at the bed and grab onto the side and give your body 10 squats. That’s right, both feet straight ahead, knees bent, rear end out, all the weight in your heels, bring your center of gravity to your knees. Feel the muscles in your legs waken with excitement. Feel alive as the blood pumps through your veins. Feel your self-respect and love for yourself replenish with each squat.
What makes a woman a woman? Drive, courage, empowerment, self-sacrifice and passion. Take those qualities and put them into yourself. Empower yourself to be and do everything you ever wanted to do. Give yourself the body and mind you have always wanted and know you have.
Give yourself a workout each morning. No matter what level you are at, there is something you can be doing to invigorate the soul. After the a.m. squats, let’s do some push-ups. You may be saying you’re “not strong enough,” well that is not true.
Women, mothers, empowering creatures, what drives you? Do you place yourself at the top of your priority list? Try and remember back to your first date. The feeling of excitement overwhelmed you. Do you remember how you would rearrange your day to spend quality time with that person? How you would cut out of work early to have more time to spend with them. Take that feeling and excitement and make you your priority. You have given so much to so many, give back to yourself and give yourself chance to be invigorated.
