The bean counters win in first-ever counting contest at Baja Sonora

bean-jar.jpgBaja Sonora Mexican restaurant in Bixby Knolls will have customers jumping with excitement as it launches it Bean Counting Contest. Starting Wednesday, March 19, the restaurant will have a large jar of beans on display and the person who guesses closest to how many beans are in the jar will win a fully catered meal for 30 (a $500 value).
Also participating in the counting contest will be the first-grade students of Longfellow Elementary School, located on Olive Avenue. The students will have the important task of counting the beans at the end of the contest on April 30.
According to Longfellow School Principal Brian Moscovitz, the exact number of beans in the jar and the name of the winner will be kept absolutely safe until the winner is announced on Monday, May 5 (Cinco de Mayo). There will also be prizes for the runners-up.
Entries for the Baja Sonora Bean Counting Contest will be accepted through April 30 and participants must be at least 18 years of age or older.
