Last weekend was busy with celebration as many Long Beach and Signal Hill locations were buzzing with Easter activities for all. From egg hunts to religious reenactments to parades and costume contests, residents and guests went all over to partake in the local happenings.
The Holy Innocents Church spent Good Friday in remembrance with a ceremony and theatrical reenactment of Jesus’ arrest and crucifixion. Residents and parishioners gathered on Pasadena Avenue, where the production was staged. Holy Innocents Church is located at 435 East 20th Street in Long Beach.
The Easter Bunny was hopping around Signal Hill, greeting families and posing for pictures as the Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt came to Signal Hill Park on Cherry Avenue Saturday morning. Guests enjoyed free food, kids’ crafts and family friendly activities. Signal Hill Park was just one of the 17 local parks that hosted egg hunts that day.
Animal lovers from various cities were at Belmont Shore Sunday for the 8th annual Haute Dog Easter Parade at Livingston Park. The parade was organized by Justin Rudd and the Community Action Team (CAT). It brought dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds together as the dogs participated in costume contests and raised money to help benefit charity.
