Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach announced June 2 that the hospital will be changing its name to Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach effective immediately. The decision to rename the hospital was made in an effort to reflect the full level of care the hospital provides, according to a press release issued by Miller, which cited its variety of programs for women, expectant mothers, children and young adults under one roof.
“We offer a comprehensive level of care for women, children and the entire family,” said Suzie Reinsvold, chief operating officer, Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital Long Beach. “Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach has always provided superior care for expectant mothers and high-risk newborns alongside the quality treatment it has provided for children. It is important that our name accurately reflects who we are and the full service we provide to the entire family.”
According to its press release, the hospital welcomes more than 6,000 babies a year and serves as a destination center for high-risk pregnancies with nearly 150 maternal transports facilitated each year for expectant mothers at outlying hospitals.
