Restaurant to donate 20 percent of day’s proceeds to local AIDS food store

Paradise Restaurant, 1800 Broadway, will again host an all-day charity event to raise funds for the AIDS Food Store. The event will take place Saturday, Sept. 13, with evening performances by local musician Kristi Jo.
For the last seven years, the AIDS Food Store and the Paradise Restaurant have joined together for this annual event, during which 20 percent of sales will be donated to the charity.

Raffle tickets will be available. Prizes include a four-day Palm Springs get-away, a year of free DirecTV, tickets to the Long Beach Playhouse, an upcoming performance by Musical Theatre West and a gift card to Lazy Dog Restaurant. All proceeds benefit the the AIDS Food Store.

“Our organization is working hard to provide our clients with fresh fruits and vegetables along with eggs and dairy products,” said John Newell, president of the AIDS Food Store. “Funds raised from this event will allow us to continue to provide these healthy food options.
