Sandy Tessier (center), former president of the Rossmoor Woman’s Club (RWC), presented a check of $900 to Anne Supple (far left) and Pat Ferrer (far right), co-chairmen of Tech Trek of the Long Beach Branch of American Association of University Women, to pay for one camper scholarship for the summer of 2015. “RWC became aware of what AAUW is doing to get girls more interested in math and science and thought this partnered well with our goals to help women and girls,” said Pat Aldridge, RWC fundraising chairman. “We have made AAUW one of our regular charities and hope that we can continue to provide a campership once a year depending on the success of our Holiday Home Tour.” Tech Trek is a week-long summer camp for middle-school girls to attend on the Irvine campus as a “hands-on” college experience that exposes them to college life.
