Three male suspects were taken into custody on Sunday, Oct. 5 after allegedly stealing bicycles from two male victims in the Los Cerritos neighborhood. One of the suspects had brandished a knife.
According to a statement provided by the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) to the Signal Tribune, police responded to a street robbery at approximately 7pm last Sunday that occurred near Pacific Avenue and Country Club Drive.
Two male adult victims had their bicycles stolen from them by three male subjects, and one of the subjects was armed with a knife and threatened the victims, according to LBPD.
The arriving officers observed the suspects flee the area, and a foot pursuit ensued. Two suspects were taken into custody near San Antonio Drive and Pine Avenue.
With the assistance of a helicopter and a K-9, the third suspect was found hiding in the back yard of a residence in the 4100 block of Pacific Avenue and was taken into custody.
The suspects were 21, 19 and 15 years old, according to LBPD. The bicycles were recovered and returned to the victims.
