The Choral Belles, a nonprofit women’s singing organization, are looking for a few new singers. Giving performances that raise money for music scholarships for young singers, The Choral Belles sing in three- and four-part harmony and rehearse on Thursdays at 9:30am at the Lakewood Village Community Church, 4919 Centralia Ave.
The Choral Belles were established in the 1950s as part of the PTA Mothersingers, and they have been continuously singing and performing ever since, according to the organization.
Membership includes women from all over Los Angeles and Orange counties. Currently under the direction of Barbara Neal Peebles, they are working on Christmas, Broadway and other programs. Each program contains a customized performance and includes not only songs but also some light dance.
The organization will host its annual garage sale on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 8am in Bixby Knolls at 3809 Gaviota Ave.
