I think one of the greatest events a country has for its citizens is the ability to vote for someone they think will give them the type of government they would love to live with. Why, oh why do so few people take advantage of that privilege?
Only when the person that does win the contest, for any position with government, and ends up being a failure in the eyes of a person who doesn’t take the time to vote, do you hear the “Why did he/she win anyhow?”
Well, instead of complaining, get up off your duff and take the time to vote. Our country needs your input. Even if it is only 1 percent of the vote count, it tells us a story about what is right and what is wrong with the system and how we might help encourage people to vote.
Every American should take advantage of their voting privilege and, win or lose, know they did their duty as citizens to help improve anything they didn’t like. Our country was founded by people who wanted a voice in government for a new and beautiful future for them and their children and their children’s children, etc. Now that you have it, use it.
