Wow! Now there is a letter [sic] from a true leader. [“Commentary: On the Ferguson verdict,” by By Jim McDonnell, Los Angeles County sheriff-elect, Nov. 28, 2014]. I am so glad he won the election for county sheriff. The winner is us as well, meaning all of the people who are hoping for more accountability and a more open and just department for the people, of the people and by the people. I’m sorry the City of Long Beach lost Mr. McDonnell as chief of police, but at least he is still with us as county sheriff.
