The Committee of 300 (C300) is celebrating its 40th year by opening its doors to new volunteer members.
The C300 are the behind-the-scenes volunteers of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. During Race Week, they are the ambassadors of our city as they perform grandstand supervision, answer questions raised by race attendees [and] assist the press and celebrities from around the world.
During the rest of the year, the Red Coats, as they are also known, provide a volunteer labor force for many other Long Beach events and nonprofit activities. These activities include assisting with the Long Beach Marathon, participating in the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade, supporting Special Olympics, supporting the AIDS Food Bank, [hosting] beach cleanups and much more.
If you would like to learn more about us and possibly be a part of the longstanding dynamic group, please come and meet us Wednesday, Feb. 25 [from 6:30pm to 9pm] at Forbidden City Restaurant located in the Marina Pacifica Mall, on the PCH and Second Street end. This is a kick-off party for the 2015 Race Week. There is no charge to attend.
Additionally, we will be holding an orientation for new volunteers on Wednesday, March 25 at 7pm [at] 3000 Pacific [Ave.] at the headquarters of the Long Beach Grand Prix Association.
