Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher John Lackey didn’t have a “perfect game” no-hitter that particular week, but the patients at Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach had the perfect day when he and Angels infielder Robb Quinlan stopped by for a visit.
“It’s fun to come out here and interact with these kids,” Lackey said. “We enjoy putting smiles on their faces.”
The players autographed hats and T-shirts for patients and hung out in the playroom where they sang songs, got their faces painted and chatted with the children. They also visited other patients in their rooms and posed for pictures with them and their families.
