Courtyard Care Center resident Grace Townes (above) turned 100 on Tuesday, March 17 with a St. Patrick’s Day-themed birthday celebration hosted by the facility, according to Karissa Kent, Courtyard admissions/outreach coordinator. The centenarian was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1915 and has been living at Courtyard Care for the last four years. According to Signal Hill Councilmember Lori Woods, who attended the event, Townes’s claim to longevity is “two beers a day and a nasty disposition.”
