A Los Alamitos man is dead after succumbing to a gunshot wound, according to police.
On Saturday, April 4, around 10:55pm, Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers responded to the 2700 block of East South Street for reports of a person who had been shot.
When officers arrived, they discovered a male adult laying on the street with a gunshot wound. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Lawrence Lee Casados of Los Alamitos. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was socializing in the alleyway when the suspect approached the victim on foot and fired upon him. No suspect information is available at press time. The investigation remains ongoing.
