Reminiscing…revealed

In the August 7 issue of the Signal Tribune, we asked readers what they remember about the photo above. Signal Hill resident D. Roe wrote in, saying:
As you can see, this was the All States Motel, which was located on the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Raymond Avenue in Signal Hill.
I’m guessing the year was 1950 when we, my mother and dad, Ona and Dee Nickell and my sister Shirley and I lived at the All States Motel in the big white house that was reserved for the manager, which was my mom at the time. I would have been nine years old and my sister would have been five years old. We didn’t live there long, maybe a year or a little longer, but there are lots of childhood memories connected with this old motel— too many to mention. I can still remember the layout of the property.
