The Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation (LBNF), hosts of the 8th Annual Ricky Park Wrigley River Run, presented a scholarship check on May 5 to the Holy Innocents Parish School, 2500 Pacific Ave., in Wrigley Village of Long Beach.

Sister Mary Elizabeth (far left) and students from the Holy Innocents Parish School in Wrigley receive an honorary check from Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation President Gavin Mc Kiernan (third from left). The donation provides tuition assistance to families whose children attend the school and have participated in the Wrigley River Run & Tadpole Trot in the past.
Kindergarten student Graciella Sanabria, 8th grader Jocelyn Sanabria, and 5th graders Edyth Sanabria and Yarely Luna were present along with Sister Mary Elizabeth to receive the award from LBNF President Gavin Mc Kiernan.
“Our students and teachers look forward to this event every year,” Elizabeth said. “Thank you to Gavin and the Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation for their generosity.”
The Long Beach Neighborhood Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to organizing and sponsoring athletic events and programs in Long Beach that promote community involvement, education, tolerance, and a healthy non-violent lifestyle, particularly among our city’s at-risk youth.
“We are proud that the success of our event enables us to support the great work of the Holy Innocents School and many other youth programs in the area,” Mc Kiernan said.
