Whether you want to learn to play the guitar, relax with yoga, sew a quilt, throw a pot, hit a bucket of balls, or teach your dog to sit, the Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department has a class for you.
A choice of almost 400 workshops and classes are offered to people of all ages, from infants to senior citizens. Those who sign up can make new friends, enhance job skills, improve physical fitness, express creativity, or just have fun. The classes are in the Summer 2007 Schedule, which was mailed to all Long Beach homes this week and are available in city parks, community centers and libraries. Information is also available online at www.lbparks.org.
Teens and adults can learn about financial planning, investing or even belly dancing. Classes are offered in jazzercise, stained glass and drumming. All types of dance classes–from salsa to ballroom, line to swing–are listed in the schedule. Computer classes include online learning classes over the Internet from the convenience of home.
Stay cool this summer with a class training your dog in the park, ice-skating, sailing or swimming. Kids and adults alike can learn to play golf, fence or tennis. Infants and parents can take classes together in Giggles and Wiggles, Baby Dance, Creative Play and swimming.
