Located in the heart of Lakewood, Desserts by Design, A New Orleans Style Coffee House, opened its doors in November 2003. This unique cafe has sparked interest from local residents and surrounding cities to get out and enjoy what the restaurant has to offer- authentic New Orleans cuisine in a casual bistro setting.
The carefully crafted menu and elegant (yet cozy) atmosphere bring the best of New Orleans to customers’ dining experiences. The constantly evolving menu is based on the freshest ingredients available, but Desserts by Design prioritizes offering the favorites that patrons have been enjoying for years, including seafood gumbo, jambalaya, etoufee, and beignets. New additions include burger sliders and onion ring stack. The brand new bar features various red and white wines, as well as choice beers. As part of their “Going Green” project, they also offer organic wines and beers.
Also new is Sunday brunch, with chef Mike Sanders offering authentic New Orleans dishes and desserts, with beer and wine every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Opening Desserts by Design in Lakewood has helped many local residents to spend their dollars in their city. For years, locals who wanted home-style desserts, food and a homely atmosphere had to travel 20 to 30 miles from their home to Los Angeles, Orange County and other surrounding cities.
