A 37-year-old male was murdered Monday from multiple gunshot wounds in the area of the 800 block of Cedar Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
At about 8:45am, LBPD officers were dispatched to the area regarding a shooting call. Upon arrival, they located a victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and determined him dead at the scene. The victim had been identified as Douglas Wilson of Long Beach.
The SWAT team responded to assist with the search of a nearby residence, according to police. Residents were evacuated during the tactical operation. A suspect was not located.
No one is in custody, and no suspect information is available, according to LBPD. A motive for the shooting is unknown, and the investigation remains ongoing.
