Art Exchange (ArtX), a nonprofit community art center, for the second year in the row will host “Mural Under the Stars,” presented by Latin-American culture lecturer Gregorio Luke on Saturday, July 11 at 8pm.
The presentation at ArtX, 356 E 3rd St., will be the first of the 2015 “Mural Under the Stars” series happening throughout the region. The free community art event in downtown Long Beach will focus on works and history of Pablo Picasso.
Luke will explore Picasso’s life and art and his artistic formation, as well as his draftsmanship and use of line and color.
Works from the artists will show on a projection system in the north parking lot adjoining Acres of Books, at Long Beach Boulevard and Third Street.
After the presentation the community is invited to a mixer in the ArtX Main Gallery.
Admission is free, however, seating is limited, and attendees will be allowed to bring their own chairs or prepare for other seating arrangements.
