The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office officially charged a 50-year-old male with one count of murder on July 20, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
Vincent Todd Armstrong was arrested by the LBPD on July 16 in connection with the murder of Taylor Parks and is currently being held in Long Beach City Jail without bail.
On July 7, at approximately 11:20pm, the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) received a call that a battery occurred in the 5500 block of Long Beach Boulevard and a woman was injured. The LBFD requested the LBPD also respond.
Arriving officers found a female African-American, who appeared to be approximately 25 years old, on the ground and unresponsive, and they began life-saving measures. Once LBFD personnel arrived, they took over life-saving measures and transported her to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Homicide detectives who investigated the matter further revealed a male African-American adult was seen fleeing the area after the assault and later discovered the victim had been stabbed in the upper torso.
Through the course of their investigation, detectives learned a name of a possible suspect and that, prior to the stabbing, a verbal altercation had occurred and escalated.
