A man succumbed to injuries after a fight with another man on Aug. 18, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
On Tuesday, Aug. 18, at approximately 9:11pm, officers responded to the 1100 block of E. 10th Street regarding reports of a battery that had just occurred. When officers arrived, they learned a male adult victim had been struck with a bottle during a fight with another male adult subject.
The victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. At approximately 3am Wednesday morning, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The motive for the fight is still under investigation.
The LBPD is withholding the identity of the victim pending notification to next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. The Signal Tribune contacted the LBPD Thursday afternoon to inquire about the identity, but it was still not being released, according to public information officer Marlene Arrona.
