Nearly 200 culinary arts students and alumni from Cerritos College and Long Beach City College as well as local high schools will get an opportunity to jump start their careers by participating in the Culinary Arts Extravaganza and Job Expo from 9am to 2pm on Friday, Oct. 23 at Cerritos College.
Organized by Goodwill, Serving the People of Southern Los Angeles County (SOLAC), in partnership with the Cerritos College Culinary Arts Program, the event is being offered to help local culinary career hopefuls gain access to hiring managers of leading hospitality employers.
The event will include food product displays from industry vendors, a chef’s panel to address questions from culinary students, and a student cooking competition, with dishes prepared at Cerritos College’s $6-million newly re-opened culinary arts facility.
Also during the event, Cerritos College will launch its first Culinary Arts Alumni Association to create a networking group for cooking and baking graduates.
