A sign at a KFC restaurant, located at 4528 Atlantic Ave. at the Bixby Knolls Shopping Center, was blown down by gusts of wind on April 25. Long Beach— Wind Conditions & Forecast reported gust speeds of up to 20 miles per hour on Monday.
Strong winds are mightier than a 12-piece order of fried chicken, as illustrated this past Monday when a gust of air blasted down a sign at a local KFC restaurant.
The sign came down near the KFC located at 4528 Atlantic Ave. at the Bixby Knolls Shopping Center.
“Those winds were really intense,” said Blair Cohn, executive director of the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association. “I always count on losing some of our pole banners on days like that, but I never thought such a heavy sign would be affected as it did. We found other street signs blown over too.”
The sign had been there since the KFC restaurant opened in the 1980s, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
