Assemblymember welcoming nominations for teacher recognition

Seventieth District Assemblymember Patrick O’Donnell (D-Long Beach) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying outstanding local teachers for his Second Annual Teacher Appreciation Ceremony.
To be eligible, nominations for educators working or living within Long Beach, San Pedro, Signal Hill or Catalina Island must be received by May 6.
“Having taught in the classroom for over 20 years, I appreciate the creativity and commitment that goes into creating successful learning environments,” said O’Donnell, chair of the Assembly Education Committee. “The Teacher Appreciation Ceremony is a unique opportunity for us to celebrate exceptional educators who go the extra mile to inspire curiosity and encourage students to realize their full potential.”
Teacher nominations are being accepted by email, fax, postal mail or online and should be directed to O’Donnell’s district office:
