The Questing Heirs Genealogical Society of Long Beach is hosting an evening with the Geneology Guys Sunday, June 10 at 6 p.m.
The Genealogy Guys–George G. Morgan of “Along Those Lines” fame and national speaker Drew Smith from Tampa, Fla.–will answer audience questions at the China Buffet, located at 4074 Hardwick Street, just across the street from Lakewood Center Mall.
Morgan and Smith, internationally known genealogists, will answer general genealogy questions submitted in advance by those planning to attend this event.
“George Morgan is well qualified and well thought of,” said Questing Heirs President Liz Myers. “He is one of the top five people in the genealogy community. Drew Smith is heavy on the computer side and how to utilize the technology to your best advantage on research. Both men have extensive expertise.”
This evening will benefit anyone interested in tracing his or her own ancestory or anyone just interested in the past. Members of Questing Heirs and both speakers will be attending the Southern California Genealogy Jamboree hosted by the Southern California Genealogical Society this weekend, in time to learn more information to share with dinner attendees.
“This is a good chance to meet other local genealogists,” Myers said. “Sometimes you talk to someone else and they know where to find this or that.”
Questions must be submitted prior to the evening and can be e-mailed to loran.bures @verizon.net or mailed to P.O. Box 15012, Long Beach, CA, 90815-0102. Admittance is the cost for dinner, paid for at the door, which will be $10.99 plus tax per person, and $9.89 plus tax for seniors 65 and older.
