Compton resident dies in Long Beach accident

A resident of Compton was killed in an accident late last week, according to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).
On Oct. 21, at approximately 10:25am, officers were dispatched to the 5900 block of Waterfront Place regarding a single-vehicle accident involving a semi-truck.
Upon arrival, an officer contacted the male adult driver of the semi-truck and, based on his observations, felt that the subject was possibly in medical duress and called for Long Beach Fire to respond.
When fire personnel responded, they began administering medical aid and subsequently transported the subject to a local hospital.
At the hospital, the subject’s medical condition declined, and he was later pronounced deceased.
The subject is only being identified at this time as a 33-year-old resident of Compton.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will determine cause of death and make positive identification.
