We need your help and participation. We need your dedication and even a few dollars too.
Small Business Saturday is coming up on Nov. 26, and it’s your chance to make a big impact to your local business district. I can argue that every day is a Small Business Saturday, but this national program helps remind locals of its importance.
We know most folks will enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving and then hit the streets on Black Friday, shopping for the best deals, maybe even doing some online shopping. But we want you to save the date and keep your calendar clear for Saturday, Nov. 26. We ask that you explore Bixby Knolls and take advantage of the goods and services around. You can: get your car washed, fill up your gas tank, go out to eat once (or twice) and enjoy a dessert, get your hair cut or nails done, enjoy a massage, buy gifts, buy gift certificates, buy some nice wine or craft beers, get your pet groomed or treat them to a play date, and enjoy other adventures in your own neighborhood.
We even will have a fun scavenger hunt planned for you to take part in and win some prizes! There is a sheet on our website and at participating businesses with images from 60 locations to find a specific item and take a photo. You will use your social media to post it and tag both the business and the BKBIA. We will even give you the whole week between Nov. 21 and Nov. 26 to get out and enjoy the hunt. Find the info at bixbyknollsinfo.com or contact us to receive the form and instructions.
Obvious benefits in supporting your local businesses include: creating a thriving business district and neighborhood; the neighborhood becomes more active and attractive; you help build a true sense of a “connected community” in Bixby Knolls; your money stays in the district; our business owners are here to serve and want to meet your needs; many of our business owners live here, too, so they are deeply invested in the area; and you can walk or ride your bike around the district and leave the car at home.
Bixby Knolls is such an amazing place and in full renaissance mode. Your consistent support is what will keep it so. We thank you, and our businesses thank you for your participation. We look forward to bumping into you somewhere around the district. Fight on!
