Free lunches will be provided to children at 11 locations through Dec. 30 as the Long Beach Unified School District’s Summer Food Service Program extends primarily to assist Track B (year-round) students while they are out of school.
The school district offers an open site, at Whittier Elementary School, 1761 Walnut Ave., available to all children, and closed enrolled sites, where priority is given to neighborhood students, although any students may attend pending space availability. Closed enrolled sites will be offered at Addams, Burbank, Edison, Grant, Nieto Herrera, Lafayette, Roosevelt, Smith, Stevenson and Willard schools.
